CHT Political Signal
In all three Chittagong Hill Tracts constituencies, the BNP’s Sheaf of Paddy symbol led by a wide margin in both vote share and victory margin. In Rangamati and Bandarban, the winning margins were over one lakh, highlighting the BNP’s strong performance.
In Khagrachhari, despite the presence of multiple independent and Islamist contenders, the BNP candidate maintained a strong lead over a fragmented opposition field.
The overall pattern indicates consolidation of BNP support across the hill districts, while Indiginous independent and smaller party candidates appeared divided. None of the three contests resulted in narrow outcomes; instead, voters delivered firm mandates in each constituency.
In Khagrachhari, the combined votes of PCJSS-supported Samiran Dewan and UPDF-backed Dharma Jyoti Chakma fell short of BNP candidate Abdul Wadud Bhuiyan’s total.
A formal gazette publication by the Election Commission is expected shortly.
