As of February 19, 2026, there is no confirmed order from US President Donald Trump to launch an immediate military strike on Iran. However, multiple international news organizations report that the situation is serious and that military action remains under active consideration.

According to The Times of Israel, President Trump has been told by senior advisers that the United States could be ready to strike Iran as soon as Saturday, if he decides to move forward. The report says the President is still weighing his options and has not yet given final approval for military action.

At the same time, The Guardian and Reuters report that the US military has significantly increased its presence in the Middle East. Aircraft carriers, fighter jets, and other strike capabilities have been positioned in the region. These deployments indicate readiness, but readiness does not mean that an attack has started.

White House officials have publicly stated that diplomacy remains the preferred path. According to statements reported by Time Magazine and other outlets, the administration continues to push for negotiations over Iran’s nuclear program while keeping military options available if talks fail.

Meanwhile, indirect discussions between US and Iranian officials are still ongoing, according to coverage by Al Jazeera and CBS News. Iranian leaders have warned that any attack would be met with strong retaliation, but they have also indicated that they are open to continued dialogue.

In practical terms, the United States appears to be in a position where it could launch strikes quickly if ordered. However, as of now, no official military operation has begun, and no public strike authorization has been issued.

The situation remains fluid. Military preparations are visible, diplomatic efforts are active, and political decisions are still being made. Whether the United States will attack Iran depends on the outcome of negotiations and the final decision of the President, a decision that, as of this moment, has not yet been announced.
